Hurricanes Blow
The water temperature off the coast of Florida is 88 degrees. Is that normal? It never gets much above 70 degrees in Long Island Sound, so 88 seems like bath water to me. It must be even warmer near the equator and that’s the kind of thing that adds force to hurricanes. I’m not a climatologist but I don’t need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing, as the song goes. It seems to me that a little common sense is in order here. We all agree. Nobody has the right to foul another person’s air, whether it’s a country or a guy eating dinner at the next table in a restaurant. That’s one of the reasons we have a non-smoking society now. How about a non-polluting society? We need a new sign to hang on the planet: Thank you for not fouling the environment.
